TO ALL REENACTORS:

Filming is nearly complete on the latest film from HISTORICAL PRODUCTIONS - JOHNNY. Over the last year, the support of every reenactor that has helped us during the various filming shoots as well as the support of the musuem directors and location managers has made our dream of bringing the story of young Johnny Klem, the "Drummer Boy of Chickamauga" alive and on screen. Now that we near the end of the production, we are asking one final time for any volunteers to help us out either as background extras or in various roles during our final scheduled weekend filming coming up on SEPTEMBER 16th and 17th.

We are asking that all UNION REENACTORS who can attend to please bring a period tent and/or period camping equipment to the shoot. We will be filming the various camp scenes needed for the film and wish to set up an accurate camp for filming. We ask that all modern equipment and aminities be hidden for sight during the daytime shoot, however all is go during the evening. As usual, food and supplies, facilities and water will be provided. And unlike last time, the filming site will be within a short distance from all restaurants and shopping malls for your convienence.

Flyers have been mailed out containing information for the weekend to various reenactors who have attended our filming dates in the past, however I have posted below the info contained on the flyer with directions to the site for those of you who do not. If you wish to receive a flyer in the mail, please contact us at HistoricalProductions@yahoo.com and one will be sent to you immediately. Please spread the word about the filming dates as we would like to get as many new faces mixed in with the familiar as we possibly can.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the shoot and we promise a good time will be had by all!

R. David Burns & Wayne W. Whited

Executive Producers, Historical Productions

INFORMATION FOR FILMING – SEPTEMBER 16th & 17TH, 2006

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who has helped us during the last few filming sessions. We could not have done it without the help of each and every reeenactor that was present. We have been able to get some incredible scenes for the film and many that we thought would not be possible to film have been accomplished with your help. We are done to the last few scenes needed for the completion of "Johnny" and once again we ask for your help.

Reenactors are needed for our filming date of September 16th and 17th, 2006 to take place near New Richmond, Ohio. These scenes to be filmed consist of many of the CAMP SCENES needed to complete the film. We are asking all UNION REENACTORS who are able to attend to bring tents in order to set up a section of a camp. Any tents will work – dog, A-Frame, and especially wall tents. Any camp furniture or curiosities can be utilized as well. We need as many reenactors and tents as possible. Also, we plan on filming a very important scene which takes place in a hospital tent so anyone with Medical Impressions, Uniforms, Equipment, flags, we ask that you please bring them.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th, 2006

This is set up day! There will be camping available in the camp set that we are putting up and all reenactors are invited to arrive at any time this day and set up. New Richmond isn’t as desolate as our last filming area and is easily accessible with amenities close by including restaurants and shopping only a few miles away along I-275.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2006

The beginning of the filming. Starting the day we will be filming the hospital scenes needed for the film. We will need everyone who has medical impressions as well as all Union soldiers to play the wounded and dying. Following this we will be filming a multitude of camp scenes from the simple such as soldiers doing various camp duties to a few complex scenes including one Visual FX scene. Filming will continue throughout the day and into the evening this time, as there are a couple of nighttime scenes to be completed.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th, 2006

We will be completing the shoot this day with everything that was not finished the previous day, as well as makeup and special effect scenes that were not finished during the August shoot. We need as many Union reenactors as we can get. Also, and Confederate reenactors or anyone with both impressions please attend this day.

As usual, we will be providing meals and amenities during the weekend for everyone. What we need the most this weekend is Union Reenactors with TENTS. If you have two, bring them along. Anything you’d like to get on camera that you think would be interesting, bring it as well. Upon completion of this weekend, we should be nearly complete with the film with only 5 remaining scenes left to shoot. If any firing is required, gunpowder and caps will be provided. And as always, if there are any questions or concerns you have about the weekend, please forward them to either one of us and we will get it taken care of. We’re looking forward to working with everyone again!
