INFORMATION FOR FILMING - FEBRUARY 3rd, 2007
THE FINAL SCENES
To start off, we at Historical Productions wish to thank each and every reenactor, both military and civilian, who has volunteered their time to help bring the story of young Johnny Klem to the screen. We are nearing completion of the project now. and post-production is in full swing as we work hard to make the release date here in 2007.
We are now down to the final filming session needed for the production, and as such have been the most difficult to organize - the train scenes. Negotiations have been long, however we have come to an arrangement to use an authentic period passenger railcar located in the Transportation Center at Carillon Park in Dayton, Ohio. Two scenes are to be filmed here - one early in the film and a later one as Johnny returns home to Ohio. Many of you participated in the train station scenes shot back in July down in Sharonville, Ohio, these are the continuation of those scenes. Both are very pivotal to the film, and we are blessed with the use of such an incredibly preserved and beautiful passenger car. However, now we need reenactors to fill the seats! All reenactors are invited, both Union military and civilian, men, women and children. This is a good chance to get out your best outfits and show them off on the screen.
All reenactors should arrive at Carillon Park between 8am to 9am on Saturday, February 3rd. There is a large parking area in front of the visitor's center where we will meet and enter the park. Sign-up will be located here. Filming for these scenes will begin sharply at 9am and will last at this location for approximately 2 hours. Following the completion of the railcar scenes, one final scene will be shot, a recruiting scene to be located at another close-by location to be determined by this date. Finally, reenactors outfitted in Union Military uniforms will be required to film some last minute FX greenscreen shots, to be filmed in between shots throughout the day.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large Greenscreen to be located outside the windows of the passenger railcar (in order to simulate a moving vehicle), we ask that all civilian reenactors to refrain if possible from wearing anything with the color GREEN in their outfit. This will help save time during the post-production of the scenes and save us many hours of work at the computer. Thank you.
We hope to see each and every one of you at the shoot. A good time should be had by all! Plus we will be filming at one of the more beautiful and historically rich parks in Western Ohio and this will be a good chance for all of us to enjoy some of Ohio's great heritage.
If there are any questions or concerns about the filming, or if you are planning to attend and wish to know more, please contact us directly at hispro@peoplepc.com or 937-847-7471.
